5th Grade- Op Art Blobs!

For this project the students studied Op Art. We also began this lesson by talking about value and practicing value by making a value scale. Then we looked at images of Op Art on a PowerPoint and discussed how the images tricked our eyes. The full step-by-step instructions for this project can be found at www.mrsbrownart.com. The students had to start in the corner of the shapes and shade from dark to light.. Making the lightest area the center.

**Note for the future: I used a regular sized sheet of paper for this and it took the students FOREVER to finish. Next time we will use just a half sheet if paper and I will encourage the students to make bigger shapes to work with.
